The Far East scene was recently abuzz with news of Gong Li saying that a certain Chinese actress is brainless. Many believed that she was referring to Fan Bingbing parading herself at the recent Cannes Film Fest even though she was not promoting any movies.
 
Gong Li is not the only one to slam Fan. It was reported that Fan�s close rival, Zhang ZiYi, may have added salt to the wound by saying that she herself would only walk the red carpet if she had a participating movie.
 
And what has Fan to say about this, you ask? Fan merely smiled and said that Gong Li must not have been referring to her. "If she didn't mention my name, then there is no reason for me to think that she was hinting at me. Gong Li could have been talking about someone else. I�ll just continue to concentrate on my work and do it well," she replied.
 
Fan also openly praised Gong Li: �She is one of my favourite actresses, ever since I saw her performance in Red Sorghum. I can�t believe she actually said that about me.�
