James Franco has already tried his hand at being a director, writer, actor and he isn�t about to stop there. James will now be able to proudly include musician to that long list!
James teamed up with performance artiste and drag queen (yes, you read that right) Kalup Linzy, whom James had previously invited to guest star on General Hospital. It is afterall James Franco, so, this weird collabo shouldn�t come off as a surprise, right? Well, from General Hospital, they decided to continue their collaboration and went on to produce an EP! Titled Turn It Up, the EP consists of three songs and one track (I Love You) has already been released and was previewed at Cynthia Rowley�s fashion show.
Yes, this collabo is real.
So, what is the duo�s music making process? According to the online portal, Pitchfork, Kalup jams on the piano and comes up with some basic chords while James sends over music that he likes to Kalup. Both of them also do the vocals and produce their own tracks. It doesn�t end there! It also seems that James and Kalup are in the process of making music videos, which is said to feature surprise guest cameos.
Turn It Up is set to drop on 12 July!
