Comedy Central will tape its inaugural Comedy Awards on Saturday (March 26) with tunes courtesy of the Roots. The Philly-based group, who currently serve as the house band for 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,' will be on hand to provide live music and entertainment throughout the award show.

NBC's hit show '30 Rock' currently leads the nominees with seven nods, followed by 'Modern Family' and 'The Office,' each with four nominations. Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon all face off against 'The Daily Show' and 'The Colbert Report' in one awards category. For film, 'Easy A,' 'Cyrus' and 'Kick-Ass' received four nominations each. During the awards show, comedian Eddie Murphy will also be presented with the network's first Comedy Icon Award, for all of his successful work in television, film and comedy.

This year's nominees were selected by the Comedy Awards board, which includes big comedy names like Chris Rock, Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg, and Conan O'Brien, among others.
