'Dancing With the Stars' recap: Americana overload

Raven is back to report on last night's Dancing With the Stars:

Poor Sugar Ray – he probably never expected that a pair of tights would do him in, but I’m convinced that the judges and viewing public couldn’t shake the image of him in atrocious royal blue spandex when deciding to give him the boot last week. For me, this contest is as much about style as it is about finesse on the dance floor. And “All-American Week” seemed to inspire the most horrendous costumes in the history of the show, along with a few standout performances.

Unfortunately, I missed the first 15 minutes of the show so this guest blogger needed assistance. I called the woman who’s partly to blame the reason for my addiction to the show – my mother.

Ralph Macchio/Karina Smirnoff: The pair’s decision to give the samba a two-step twist while dancing to “Sweet Home Alabama” did not go over well with the judges or Mom. Bruno liked it, but he and Carrie Ann criticized it for lacking a Latin vibe. 22/30
